讀寫台語文,有兩套途徑可循。 一是「音標法」,另一是「文書法」。 華語可用ㄅㄆㄇ來寫文,但是更有效率的是,使用漢字來編寫國語文。ㄅㄆㄇ文是音標法,而國語文是文書法。都可經由適當途徑來學習。
英文的學習,可依靠書本。 結果,不會說好英語的人,也會閱讀而了解英文,此包括政治新聞和科技報導。只有要研究來制定「標準英語發音」的英語語文學的學者,才會計較如何用國際音標來正確注明他要推廣的個個英文單字的標準發音。
台語現代文書法,希望讓每個願意學會台語的人,包括對自己的台語口音,完全沒有自信的人,都可由書本上學好台語文的讀寫。這是任何音標法都不能做到的。既然台語現代文是「文書法」,它就可以依靠書籍報章以及國際網路上的教學文章來推廣台語。

There are two routes for learning Taiwanese ;anguage. One is
the method of Phnotics, the other is the method of Literary. Chinese
Mandarin can be written with ㄅㄆㄇ but a more efficient method is to compose
Mandarin sentences with Han character. ㄅㄆㄇ text is a Phoneical
writing, and Mandarin is a literal writing. Both can be studied
through adequate routes.
English can be studied through textbooks. The result of this
study makes a man without English speaking ability to read and appreciate
English, which includes such as political news and scientific reports.
Only the linguistics scholar who wants to bestow "Standard Word Pronunciation"
will discuss his ideal sound of words using the International Phonetical
Signs so to promote his ideal pronunciation.
Modern Literal Taiwanese is intended to make every person who wants to
learn Taiwanese language possible to acquire
an
ability of Taiwanese read-write through the study of books. These person
include those who have no confidence at allon his own Taiwanese pronunciation.
This is not possible by any Phonetical method. Since
the
Modern Literal Taiwnese is a method of Literary, it can be promoted with
books, newspaper articles, and teaching articles on the International Webs.
